6 Needs To Human Psychology

According to human needs psychology, people do what they do for six reasons, six human needs that everyone needs to fulfill.

First Certainty: There is the need for certainty that we can be comfortable, a secure environment, consistency in our relationships.

Second Uncertainty: Once we have met our basic need for certainty, our second need is for uncertainty, for variety and the challenges which will stimulate us and exercise our emotional and physical range.

Third Significance: The need is for significance. Every person needs to feel important, needed, wanted and worthy of love. Everybody needs to feel unique and special in some way.

Fourth Love & Connection: The fourth need is for the experience of love and connection. Everyone needs connection with other human beings and everyone strives for and hopes for love, even if they don’t realize it.

Fifth Growth: The fifth need is for growth. When we stop growing we die. We need to constantly develop emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.

Sixth Contribution: This need is for contribution, to work for something bigger than yourself.

The first four needs, certainty, variety, significance and love connection, are the needs of the personality, and everybody must meet them in some way. However, the secret to lasting fulfillment lies in the fifth and sixth needs, growth and contribution, which are the spiritual needs.
