S.T.O.P and Remain Mindful




Before you operate in a potentiallydangerous reactive mode, here’s a grounding practice to remind you stay calm and collected to help clear the mind and disengage in reactivity: S.T.O.P practice. 

S = Stop what you are doing: Hit the pause button on your thoughts and actions.
T = Take three deep breaths to center & ground yourself and bring yourself into the present moment. 
O = Observe & name what is happening. Describe it to your thinking brain. Focus and allow your mind to relax your nervous system. 
P = Proceed with awareness and balance.
